Give, Receive, and Share
Christmas is a time for giving gifts, receiving gifts, and sharing the joy of Christmas with one another and with others. Advent is a time during which we prepare ourselves more deeply to celebrate the greatest gift of all: the birth of the baby Jesus, the Christ Child, the Son of the Living God. As our just and loving God freely shared this priceless gift with us, we, as thankful and joyous children of God, are called to share with all others the gifts that God has so abundantly given us, as well as the joy that Christmas brings to our hearts. And, especially in this present darkness, we must more intentionally share joy and hope with those who are marginalized and most in need - “the least of these.” This we are called to do through invitation, hospitality, outreach, acts of love, acts of generosity, acts of solidarity, and acts of justice.
During this Advent & Christmas Season, the Disciples Center for Public Witness, your Disciples witness for justice in the nation’s capital, invites you to join us in giving, receiving, and sharing:
GIVE —> Partner with us to defend democracy, promote justice, and protect the vulnerable.
and, by all means, please
SHARE —> Please distribute widely through your diverse communications networks & platforms.
During our Giving Tuesday campaign, we rolled out our new series of Resources for Justice Education, releasing one each week and featuring themes such as “Faith Against Christian Nationalism” and “Organizing for the Beloved Community.” These are now available in one downloadable PDF booklet. We hope you enjoy them and share them with others and use them in your communities.
We invite you to begin or continue your partnership with us
